(MENAFN- Asia Times) The long awaited Skytrax awards have been unveiled and Qatar Airways has come out shining in multiple fields, according to SamChui.com.
The airline has been named 2019 "World's Best Airlines" by Skytrax. They also achieved first place in "World's Best Business Class Airlines," "World's Best Business Class Seat" and "Best Airline in the Middle East" for 2019.
The awards are selected from passenger and guest feedback, through surveys. Approximately 21.65 million eligible survey entries were counted in the final results, assessing over 300 airlines in 2019.
This year's Skytrax awards was held at the air and space museum at Le Bourget as part of the Paris Air Show.
China's Hainan Airlines also made the list, earning a seventh place. It was the ninth straight time the airline has been honored with the 5-Star airline designation.
Over the past year, Hainan Airlines upgraded its products and optimized its services with the aim of creating an unparalleled air travel experience, MorningStar reported. The company partnered with renowned British design firm PriestmanGoode to create the new "Dream Feather" visual design.
Hainan Airlines' 787-9 Dreamliner with "Dream Feather" interiors were rolled out with the launch of the new Premium Economy class, the report said.
As a customer feedback focused operator, Hainan Airlines responded to its passengers and upgraded its specialty Care More programs, designed to bring extra attention to the special needs of children, pregnant mothers, and senior citizen passengers.
Hainan Airlines' Hai Chef culinary services were also enhanced. It stepped up collaborations with R & D directors at leading international restaurants, famous chefs from Michelin-rated restaurants, and five-star hotels to provide passengers with authentic Chinese and Western delicacies at 30,000 feet.

Filling out top 10 of the 'World's Best Airlines' for 2019, are: Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, EVA Air, Hainan Airlines, Qantas Airways, Lufthansa and Thai Airways.
In the category of "World's Best Cabin Staff," Singapore Airlines took first, while Hainan Airlines placed seventh and China Airlines placed 10th. The "World Best Low-Cost Airline" was AirAsia, while EVA Air was the "World's Cleanest Airline." Japan Airlines won "World's Best Economy Class."
The "Best Airline in North America" is still Air Canada, which also scooped the prize for "World's Best Business Class Lounge Dining."
The Skytrax awards are seen as among the most prestigious in the airline business. The online survey operated from September 2018 to May 2019, and survey forms were offered in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
